When travelling alone, I usually don’t stay at the same hotel. I move around to experience new things at different hotels. Several months ago, I decided to revisit Yogyakarta for just four days due to some business matters. The plan was the same, to stay at three different hotels.
Since I was travelling alone, I was more flexible and relaxed. Including hotel arrangements, I booked them just before arriving in Yogyakarta. As usual, I booked them using a safe and reliable app that often has many promotions. Again, to avoid any worries or losses. Location and Check-In/Check-Out Times
Grand Senyum Hotel is located at Jl. Pangeran Diponegoro No. 27, Gowongan, Jetis District, Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta 55232.
Like most hotels, Grand Hotel Senyum starts check-in at 2:00 PM and check-out at noon. Of course, if the room is available earlier, you can check in earlier by confirming with the hotel. The service hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Room Types and Prices at Grand Senyum Hotel
Regarding prices, Grand Senyum Hotel offers various room types to choose from according to your needs. It is available with either a double bed or twin beds, with or without breakfast. This room type offers a spacious 40 square meters.
The second type is Assigned On Arrival. It is available with either a double bed or twin beds, with or without breakfast. This room type is only for one guest per room.

This 4-star hotel has complete facilities that its customers can enjoy. One of them is a rooftop swimming pool. I usually look for this facility. We can enjoy the sunset or sunrise while looking at the city of Yogyakarta from above. Of course, accompanied by warm ginger tea, a speciality of Yogyakarta.

My Incredible Moment Staying at Grand Senyum Hotel Yogyakarta
I planned to stay in a different hotel during my four days in Yogyakarta. On the first day, early in the morning before breakfast, I went out for a morning run. By chance, I passed by a new hotel near Tugu, called Grand Senyum Hotel.
Out of curiosity, I immediately searched for information about this hotel on a hotel search app. After checking the facilities, reviews, and discounted price, I finally decided to stay at the Grand Senyum Hotel. The reservation was still for one night.
The most appealing and first reason for choosing this hotel is its modern, minimalist design, dominated by white. It makes it very bright. For someone like me who has experienced some scary incidents while alone in a hotel, the atmosphere of this hotel is a top priority. It feels clean and fresh, so I won't be afraid at night.
The second reason for choosing this hotel is that the deluxe room is 40 square meters. It's very spacious and allows for various activities. Since I'll be spending the whole day in the room working on some tasks, such as online meetings like teaching, attending webinars, and others, it's fortunate that there's still one Grand Deluxe room with breakfast and a double bed available.
After booking, I arrived at Grand Senyum Hotel around 1:30 p.m. The hotel staff welcomed me warmly. I liked the spacious lobby, which was dominated by classic European colours with some brown Javanese ornaments and grey sofas. It gave an elegant and luxurious impression but was still warm and had a slightly vintage feel.
After waiting no longer, I was finally able to enter the room and was escorted by the staff to the elevator. As a hospitality graduate, I know this kind of hospitality is essential, even if it is simple. It gives the impression of being attentive and providing exemplary service to customers.
Then, what about when entering the hotel room? The ambience makes anyone staying at this hotel feel safe and comfortable. I used it to rest and prepare materials for the evening meeting. The calm atmosphere makes working more focused, efficient, and enthusiastic.
It's also very comfortable resting at night, with no noise from either side. It allows for a sound sleep and leaves the body and mood feeling fresh upon waking. The AC works well, the bathroom facilities are safe, and the TV functions correctly.
At 6 a.m., I got up for breakfast and liked the restaurant's atmosphere. It was very comfortable and clean, and all the staff were friendly. The food options were varied and abundant, and all the ingredients looked fresh. Since I'm a picky eater, I ensured the fruits and vegetables I consumed were fresh. The same goes for the side dishes.
After breakfast, I decided to check out the rooftop pool. It was pretty comfortable, even though it wasn't very spacious. From above, I could see the city of Yogyakarta. In the end, I decided to stay at this hotel again. I immediately booked it using the hotel app.
The second day, I decided to extend. How lucky I am that there were still two rooms of the same type available. After booking on the hotel app, I immediately contacted the receptionist and informed them that I wanted to extend my stay in the same room.
My thought
Overall, my experience staying at Grand Senyum Hotel Jogja was amazing. I was excited because the room was clean, huge, and looked new, as expected. I saw all the equipment, they were in good condition, looked new, and worked perfectly when used.
The most important thing is that they have a giant toilet. I could stay longer in this place and read a book, as it is my habit at home, haha. Because I am happy and satisfied with the hospitality, I recommend this aesthetic hotel to all my friends.
And they have a pool on the rooftop, where you can enjoy a beautiful city view from this area. The pool is tranquil so that you can enjoy your swimming.
