10 Tips Traveling To Snowy Countries

Here are the tips for traveling to snowy mountains that you should know.

1. Know the extreme weather in the destination country

Before visiting your dream country, make sure the extreme conditions are met in your destination country. This is to anticipate things that might happen. You can choose the best time that suits your body. Don't visit in extreme winter, even though you are allergic to cold. After learning the conditions there, adjust the luggage you bring. Adjust it to your body condition, too, so that vacations are safer and more comfortable.

2. Safety and health insurance

For me, it is very important to anticipate unwanted things. Buying is not meant to be challenging, but a form of caution and love for yourself. Also, ensure the insurance details are covered, including the symptoms of illness commonly occurring in winter areas, and register for the government's travel application. This is also very important so it is easier to trace if we need our government's help in the country where we are traveling.

3. Prepare alternative transportation

Winter transportation activities are unpredictable. It could happen that public or private vehicles cannot run due to fog or too thick snow. Well, if this problem occurs, pay attention to other transportation alternatives so that we can still move from one place to another while on vacation in a winter country.

4. Make sure the destination tourist spot

The weather will vary from place to place in a country. Monitor the weather conditions and choose the weather that suits your body condition, especially with children. This must be adequately considered.

5. Bring medicines

This is critical preparation before vacationing in a country during the snow season, including registering for the government's travel application. Now, this is also very important so it is easier to trace if we need our government's help in the country where we are traveling.

6. Bring warm clothes for winter

Prepare all the equipment for winter weather, from tops, bottoms, shoes, and other accessories that warm the body. Don't get the wrong costume.

7. Turn off the AC when in the vehicle

If you're renting a car, turn off the air conditioner so you don't shiver even more because of the weather outside. Usually, if you take public transportation, they will turn off the AC or turn it on in a warmer direction.

8. Bring moisturizer

Cold air will make the skin dry faster and peel off quickly. To avoid this, don't forget to bring moisturizers for the skin of the body, face, and lips. In my experience, my lips were so dry and chapped that they bled a little. It was so cold, and I forgot not to bring lip moisturizer. Fortunately, I found a lip moisturizer seller, even though I struggled a bit to find it.

9. Choose the right lodging

Choosing the right lodging during the snowy season is very important. Make sure to check what facilities they have, such as heating and warm water for bathing. The location is also essential, as it is affordable and close to public transportation, which is a necessary consideration for me.

10. Use waterproof shoes

This must also be considered, bring footwear that is suitable for snowy conditions. Try to use waterproof boots so that snow doesn't get into your shoes when you're walking or skiing. It's not funny if the snow gets into your feet and makes them wet or damp, making them uncomfortable. I've experienced it, hehehe, so don't copy it.

11. Bring a waterproof bag

To keep your belongings safe from the cold, bring a waterproof bag. So that when you're playing in the snow, you don't wet your essential items in the bag. Prevention is better than cure because the snow might melt, even if it's just a little bit.

12. Prepare enough money

When I ran out of cash, I had to look around for an ATM or a place to exchange money. In winter conditions like that, it isn't very easy. So don't underestimate the importance of preparing cash when vacationing in a winter place.

13. Food stock at the hotel

Don't forget to pay attention to this, too. The food stock where we stay will be beneficial so that you don't have to go back and forth outside the hotel at night if you are hungry. Because winter makes us lazy when going out.

14. Bring a hotpack

If you've been to some countries during winter, you'll see people holding small bags. They look like small grains of sand. That's called a hotpack. Rub it on your hands and it will warm your hands. You can also put it on your feet to keep them warm. Or I stick it on my neck, ears, or cheeks. One of these traveling items is sold freely in minimarkets or on the roadside in winter countries.

15. Bring warm food and drinks

For those of us from tropical countries, it's not easy to be in freezing weather, especially when it's snowing. One way to outsmart this is to bring food or drinks that warm the body. This warm drink is very effective in making the body warmer. Usually, I will get tea, brewed chocolate, packaged ginger, or other ready-to-brew drinks containing ginger. This is quite helpful to keep the body warm. Or you can also bring ginger candy, which is also quite effective.

16. Prepare alternative transportation.

Winter transportation activities are unpredictable. It could happen that public or private vehicles cannot run due to fog or snow that is too thick. If this problem occurs, pay attention to other transportation alternatives so that we can still move from one place to another while on vacation in a winter country.

17. Prepare physically

This is another important tip for traveling to a winter country. Vacationing in a country that has cold weather, of course, will require more energy. Prepare your body before leaving, exercise enough, and care for your health.

Make sure the destination tourist spot is in a country. The weather will vary from place to place. Monitor and choose the weather that suits your body condition, especially with children. This must be considered properly.

So make sure to prepare yourself when you want to travel to a country that is in winter. To anticipate things that are not desirable and certainly make your vacation safer and more comfortable, if you have prepared many things beforehand.
