But don't worry about feeling bored, because along the way, we are treated to extraordinary natural scenery, a cluster of islands stretching out beautifully brownish, the sound of seawater, fresh air, and breeze, blue sky, beautiful clouds, the enjoyment that not everyone can feel, becomes its attraction, especially for friends whose hobby is taking pictures. It will be fun.

About Komodo National Park

Komodo National Park is a national park managed by the government directly, namely the Komodo National Park Center. It has three large islands: Rinca Island, Komodo Island, and Padar Island. This conservation island is located in East Nusa Tenggara. In 1991, UNESCO included this island as a World Heritage Site. On November 11, 2011, it was nominated for the Seven Wonders of the World and finally won with the most votes.

The park, which has an area of 173,300 ha, protects various species such as mammals, birds, and reptiles. The main goal is to preserve the life of the Komodo monitor lizard. Based on data from http://ksdae.menlhk.go.id/, in 2018, around 2,800 Komodo dragons were protected in this national park established on March 6, 1980.

Finally arrived at the island included in this world heritage site. Yep, welcome to Komodo Island National Park. The writing welcomed us and all tourists from various parts of the world. Before taking pictures with Komodo dragons, don't forget, friends, to go to the ticket payment place.

For local tourists, the cost is IDR 80,000-, including insurance and the cost of the ranger who will accompany us and become our guide. My foreign friend was charged Rp 250,000-. If this is the detail I don't understand, I didn't ask 😊. Our ranger is Mr. Basra, who is friendly and polite.

My Experience Visiting Komodo National Park

Throughout the tour of Komodo Island National Park, Mr. Basra told us a lot about these dragons and the tourism development on this island.

When we started to enter the forest in Komodo Island National Park, we saw some baby dragons, but they seemed scared and disappeared again. There were also many birds, and I saw some small deer and other animals. I waited for a long time for the dragons to come out, but Mr. Basra said it was not feeding time yet, so they didn't come out.

Finally, after waiting about ½ an hour, this animal that only exists in Indonesia, came out proudly and in large numbers. Their bodies were almost twice as big as mine, and it was so long that it was wowed.

In Komodo Island National Park, all the rangers use two-pronged wooden sticks, cagak wood. If you say Sundanese, it is said to be a tool to conquer these dragons. They look calm and obey the rangers, including Mr. Basra. I was afraid and didn't want to take pictures, but it would be a shame if there were no mementos, so I took a photo with them.

After about an hour of walking around the forest and taking pictures with these beautiful dragons, we ate coconut ice from the Komodo Island National Park vendors. It was almost noon, and wow, it is hot.
