1. Kazan Cathedral

Kazan Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox Church that has a very futuristic building design. Another name for this church is Cathedral Our Lady of Kazan, which was founded in 1801 - 1811 by Andre Voronikhin, one of the great Russian architects.

The building looks sturdy and futuristic from the outside, unique, for sure. For those who like photos, this is one of the Instagramable tourist attractions. Its 56 columns made of sizeable red granite and mosaic marble floors make this church look very luxurious and magnificent. So it's a must-visit when you're in Russia.

2. Kremlin Fortress

The Kremlin is one of the historic buildings in Moscow, Russia. It is a magnificent architectural achievement. The monumental walls and towers, built in the 15th century from bricks, are adjacent to the river, St. Basil's Cathedral, and Red Square. The fortress, which had 20 towers, was initially used by the Tsar or ruler of Russia.

The most famous of these is the 67.3-meter-high Spasskaya Tower. Today, this beautiful fortress houses the President's office and is the centre of the Russian government. Tourists can visit this fortress to take pictures, see the interior, and take a look at its super futuristic design. Very Instagramable for those who love photos. The Kremlin is also the most popular tourist destination in Russia today.

3. Lala Tulpan Mosque

This mosque, built in the 1900s and surrounded by forests, is located in the city of Ufa, close to the Belaya River. Construction took almost nine years. Its dome resembles a tulip flower in bloom. It was built around 1990-1998 to a modernist design by Wakil Davlyatshin.

The mosque, designed predominantly in red, is the work of a famous architect named Wakil Davlyatshin. It has 53-meter twin minarets and is the third largest mosque in Russia after the Akhmad Kadyrov Mosque in Grozny City and the Qolsharif Mosque in Kazan. President Vladimir Putin once used the mosque in a Talgat Tadzhuddin event with Muslim scholars in 2001.

4. Palace Square

The Palace Square building is located on Dvortsovata Ploscha, surrounded by important buildings in St Petersburg. The venue for many of Russia's major events, it was built in 1819 - 1829 by Carlo Rosi, a neoclassical architect from Russia.

The beauty of Palace Square is a feast for the eyes. Again, its unique design attracts many tourists, making this building a mandatory tourist destination when visiting Russia. It is perfect for those of you who like to take pictures, and it is suitable for enjoying day and night with your bestie.

5. Kul Sharif Mosque

This mosque is one of the tourist attractions that is full of history. This beautiful mosque was built in the Kazan Kremlin by I Sayfullin and S. Shakurof in the 16th century, and the interior design was by A. Sattarov. The mosque was named in honor of Kul Sharif, the last Imam of Kazan, who was a religious scholar who served there.

The mosque's beautiful and charming architectural design, which uses white and blue colours, has a modern and traditional Russian style. It is currently the main mosque in the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan, where 50% of the population is Muslim.

The 52-meter-high minaret can accommodate 1500 worshipers. However, the mosque's field, which cost about 400 rubles to build, can accommodate 10,000 worshipers. Currently, the largest mosque in Russia is open to the general public as a religious historical tourist destination. So don't forget to visit Kul Sharif Mosque when you visit Russia.

6. Red Square

Red Square is a city tourist spot in the form of a square in the city of Moscow. It is a historical place and is often used as a place of entertainment, military parades, and significant events in Russian society. The 7-hectare square was originally a marketplace and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was approved in 1990.

Russia's most famous landmark is surrounded by Russian historical places such as St. Basil's Cathedral, the Kremlin Wall, the Lenin Mausoleum, and the State Historical Museum.

7. St. Basil's Cathedral

The church, with other names Pokrovsky Cathedral or Pokrovsky Sobor, and also Svyatoy Vasily Blazhenny, was built in 1551-1561 by Tsar Ivan Grozny or Ivan The Terrible. This was the first Tsar (ruler) of Russia to commemorate the victory of the Kazan Khanate on the religious feast of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin.

The church, which has many onion-shaped domes, is 46 meters high and only 64 square meters wide. It has a fascinating colour design that is a description of the holy book. The beauty of this church made it included in the Cultural Heritage Site authorized by UNESCO in 1990, along with Red Square.
