In addition to hotels, Bandung also has many comfortable and affordable guest houses for tourists. This type of accommodation offers a warmer and more homey atmosphere, perfect for those who want to feel like they are staying in their own home. One of the most popular guest houses in Bandung is Mogens Guest House, which is known for its strategic location, complete facilities, and modern interior design.

About Mogens Guest House Bandung

Location

Mogens Guest House is located at Jl. Kebon Sirih No. 26, Kelurahan Babakan Ciamis, Kecamatan Sumur Bandung, Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat 40117. It is very strategically located, only about a 10-minute walk from Bandung KAI Station.

Located in the heart of Bandung, tourists can easily reach the city center, shopping areas, and culinary spots from this guest house. However, if you use public transportation such as a car, it takes about 10-15 minutes because the route is winding. This guest house is suitable for those who want to stay in a city with easy access to various tourist destinations, transportation, and culinary spots.

Room Types and Prices

Mogens Guest House offers a variety of aesthetically pleasing room types.

    • Deluxe Room, the smallest size, is a room with an area of approximately 18 m². Suitable for those traveling alone.
    • Executive King or Twin Room, larger in size, approximately 27 m², with a choice of 1 king bed or 2 twin beds.
    • Family room with 1 single + 1 king bed, accommodates 3 people in one room.

Each room has a different price, depending on the room type, day, season, promotions, and room availability.

Facilities

Mogens Guest House offers a wide range of facilities that are quite complete for a guest house in the city center, such as free WiFi on all floors, free parking for those who bring vehicles, excellent air conditioning, LED TV, mini bar or fridge, safety deposit box, and private bathroom with shower, slippers, a very friendly 24-hour reception, and security throughout the day.

There is also a small garden or green area, and a restaurant designed with modern and aesthetic Scandinavian interiors that are perfect for photos. Each room offers several room packages that include a local breakfast.

My Experience Staying at Mogens Guest House Bandung

I found Mogens Guest House through a hotel booking app. When I first saw the photos, I thought it looked unique and cozy, plus it was close to Bandung train station. After reading the good reviews and seeing that many people had stayed there, I decided to book it. Luckily, rooms were still available.

I used online transportation to get there, as the roads in Bandung are single-lane and often have turns, so it took about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the place. Additionally, the road leading to the guest house is not very wide, so the driver had to drive slowly.

I arrived at this guest house in the late afternoon, just before sunset, so it was already quite dark. As soon as I arrived, I immediately felt comfortable, like I was at home, and the atmosphere was very warm. I am quite picky when it comes to accommodation. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The hotel or guest house has three floors: the ground floor has the reception and restaurant, while the second and third floors are rooms. The top floor has a balcony.

This guest house has a Scandinavian concept, with a majority of the design featuring white colors and lots of wood in the interior. It provides a comfortable and warm atmosphere, like being at home. When I entered the room, I felt like I was at home. At that time, I got a double bed room because it was last minute, so this type of room, the deluxe room, was available.

The facilities are quite complete for a guest house standard, the AC works well, the bed is comfortable, and other amenities function properly. The bathroom isn't very large but is designed like a home bathroom, so when showering, I personally felt like I was showering at home. The deluxe room is still comfortable for two people.

There’s a mini bar and a table for storing some items. However, I used it for work, and although it’s a bit cramped, it’s still comfortable for working. Unfortunately, the deluxe room doesn’t come with a chair, and coincidentally, there’s a table and chair in front of the room, though they’re not very big. I borrowed the chair for working.

I asked permission from the receptionist first, and it turned out that the receptionist offered me to work in the restaurant area so that I would be more comfortable. Since the restaurant only operates in the morning during breakfast, it is not used at night. I think this is one of the plus points of staying at this hotel, as the offer made me feel that I was being given the best service possible.

Since the Mogens Guest House restaurant was closed at night, I ended up leaving the hotel to look for food. Near the hotel, there were several local eateries such as fruit ice cream, fried rice, and toast. If you want to find more places to eat, you have to walk, but it's not worth it. It's too far to walk, and ordering a vehicle is too close. In the end, I decided to order online because I also had a webinar at 7 p.m.

In the morning, I had breakfast around 8 AM, and it turned out there were only two other guests eating. It seemed like the others had already had breakfast, as evidenced by the significantly reduced menu options. The restaurant’s interior is designed with a Scandinavian concept, so the chairs, tables, and some other items are made of wood.

This room is surrounded by glass on both sides, allowing sunlight to stream in freely, so during breakfast, we can enjoy the warmth of the morning sun in Bandung. The food menu available at that time was local fare, such as fried rice, white rice, rolled eggs, crackers, fruits, and hot drinks like tea and coffee. The food was quite tasty, but the variety was limited, which is standard for a guest house.

After breakfast, only my friend and I remained, so I asked the guest house staff for permission to work in the restaurant room. Unfortunately, as the day progressed, the heat of the sun became more intense, considering that the restaurant room was dominated by glass.

My thoughts

    • Overall, Mogens Guest House was very pleasant and interesting for me. If I go to Bandung again, I would like to try staying in a larger room.
    • The atmosphere is calm, and the guests staying here are not noisy.
    • The guest house is homey, suitable for backpackers, families, and couples.
    • The place is clean.
    • The staff are friendly and available 24 hours.
    • The price is affordable.
    • The interior is aesthetic and Instagrammable with a Scandinavian concept.
    • The location is strategic for going anywhere.
    • The facilities are quite complete, such as air conditioning, WiFi, TV, minibar, and free parking. Unfortunately, the parking area is small, but it is still suitable for a guest house.

However, there are some cons that I have noticed, but so far it is still safe. First, the rooms are not very soundproof against outside noise. Although it is not disturbing. Second, the parking area is narrow for guests who bring cars and arrive late. But for guests who do not bring vehicles, this is not a problem.

So, for those of you who are planning to stay in Bandung and are looking for strategic, comfortable accommodation with a modern design that is still affordable, Mogens Guest House is a very good option to consider.

With its location in the heart of the city, close to the Bandung train station and many tourist attractions and culinary spots, plus facilities that are quite complete for basic needs, Mogens Guest House accommodation can be a great place to start exploring Bandung.

Has anyone stayed at this cozy and comfortable guest house? Feel free to share your experience in the comments section.

Beach vacations are always a favorite choice for many people. White sandy beaches, crashing waves, and fresh sea air can provide a sense of calm and happiness. However, behind their beauty, many beaches in Indonesia are beginning to be damaged due to the behavior of tourists who are not concerned about the environment. Plastic waste, food waste, and damage to the marine ecosystem are now a real threat to the preservation of beaches.

Therefore, as travelers, we must be careful and vigilant when traveling to avoid damaging the environment. This includes when traveling to the beach. So, what can we do to keep the beach clean and undamaged?

10 Ways to Be an Eco-Friendly Traveler at the Beach

In order to preserve the beauty of beaches for future generations to enjoy, travelers need to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness and balance in nature. Here are 10 ways to protect the environment when traveling to the beach that you can apply. I have already implemented some of these when traveling to the beach.

1. Bring Your Own Water Bottle and Eating Utensils

One of the biggest sources of trash on the beach is single use plastic bottles and food containers. To reduce this, bring a tumbler or refillable water bottle and personal eating utensils like stainless steel spoons, forks, or straws.

In addition to being more economical, this habit also helps reduce plastic waste that is difficult to decompose. In addition, more and more restaurants are becoming environmentally conscious, such as cafes or food stalls around the beach that now provide refillable drinking water at affordable prices.

2. Bring Eco-Friendly Bags

When going to the beach, use a tote bag or woven bag to carry snacks or food and avoid using plastic bags. Not only does it look cooler and more practical, but this small step also helps reduce the amount of plastic that often ends up in the ocean and pollutes the marine ecosystem, including coral reefs and small organisms such as plankton.

3. Don't Litter

As a traveler, you are probably familiar with the main rule when traveling anywhere, including when visiting the beach, leave nothing behind except your footprints. So, you must ensure that all trash, including cigarette butts, food wrappers, and tissues, is brought back and disposed of in the available trash bins. If there are no trash bins, collect your trash in your own bag and dispose of it when you find the right place. This simple attitude sets a positive example for other visitors.

4. Bring Eco-Friendly Products

When vacationing at the beach, we often use sunscreen, soap, or shampoo to protect our skin. However, some products contain chemicals such as oxybenzone that can damage coral reefs. So, don't forget to choose reef safe or natural body care products. Not only are they safer for the marine ecosystem, but they are also gentler on the skin.

5. Don't Take Coral, Shells, or Marine Life

Many tourists who visit the beach are tempted to take home coral, sand, or shells as souvenirs. However, this can disrupt the balance of the beach ecosystem. Take only photos and videos as memories, not by taking anything from the sea or beach. Remember, beaches are beautiful because their ecosystems are intact and undamaged, not because we take parts of them home with us.

6. Choose Eco-Friendly Transportation

If possible, choose high-capacity transportation, public transportation, or bicycles to get to the beach. Using these modes of transportation can help reduce the use of private vehicles, which in turn can help reduce carbon emissions that contribute to climate change.

However, some beach tourist areas now offer bike rental services or electric vehicles that are more environmentally friendly. This activity makes exploring the tourist area more fun while also being responsible for exploring the beach.

7. Participate in Beach Cleanups or Other Voluntourism Activities

Many communities and nature lovers regularly organize beach cleanups. I have participated in these activities several times. Joining these activities not only makes the beach cleaner, but also provides a meaningful social experience for my life.

You can invite your friends to join and make beach clean-ups part of your travel itinerary. A little time set aside can have a big impact on nature.

8. Protect Marine Life and Wildlife

The beach is not only a place for human recreation, but also home to many living creatures such as turtles, seabirds, and various types of fish. When snorkeling or diving, avoid touching coral reefs or marine animals, as direct contact can damage the coral structure and disturb the animals' lives. For example, if you are camping on the beach, do not make a campfire too close to wildlife habitats as this can disturb them.

9. Conserve Water and Energy

Based on personal experience, being by the sea means that fresh water is often limited in coastal areas. So use water sparingly when showering or cleaning, especially if you are staying in a small inn. In addition, make it a habit to turn off lights and electronic devices when not in use. By conserving water and energy, you are contributing to the conservation of natural resources in coastal areas.

10. Providing Environmental Awareness Education

I believe that big changes always start with small steps, including in terms of caring for the environment. After taking an eco-friendly trip, share your experience on social media or your personal blog. Tell people how you kept the beach clean, used eco-friendly products, or participated in a community clean-up. That way, you can inspire more people to do the same.

My thought

In my opinion, preserving the beauty of beaches is not the responsibility of a few people, but a shared task for the community, government, and local authorities. So let's work together to preserve their beauty and sustainability. With simple steps such as reducing plastic use, not littering, and protecting marine life, we can be responsible tourists at the beach.

Traveling to the beach will feel more rewarding when we know that every small action we take contributes to keeping the earth green and the sea blue. So, when you plan your next beach vacation, make sure you not only bring your adventurous spirit, but also your concern for the environment. What have you done from the above ways to keep the beach sustainable? Share in the comments section.

The Thousand Islands are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Jakarta. In addition to their proximity to Jakarta, these thousand islands offer stunning natural beauty. We must take great care to preserve this beautiful natural environment. It is therefore not surprising that the government has implemented strict regulations to protect the Thousand Islands. One of these islands is Tidung Kecil, which boasts beautiful natural charm.

Through DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation No. 7 of 2024, the Jakarta City Government has designated Tidung Kecil Island as part of a marine conservation area or provincial strategic area. This means that the flora and fauna there must be strictly preserved and protected. It is therefore not surprising that the tourist attractions on Tidung Kecil Island have become educational attractions that are highly suitable for protection.

Educational tourism on Tidung Kecil Island

Educational tourism on Tidung Kecil Island

Due to its status as a conservation area, tourism management on this island is designed to preserve the ecosystem, not for mass commercialization, so activities are carried out solely to protect the environment. It is perfect for those who want to bring their children to learn about the environment. Some of the educational tourism activities that I tried yesterday on this uninhabited island were:

1. Turtle Conservation Center

One of the main attractions of Tidung Kecil Island is the turtle conservation center. It is located right next to the Whale Museum. Visitors can learn about the process of saving turtle eggs, hatching, caring for hatchlings, and releasing them into the sea. Conservation guides will provide detailed explanations of the threats turtles face, including hunting, marine debris, and habitat destruction.

The hatchling release activity is also a delightful and educational moment. Unfortunately, when I visited yesterday, there was no hatchling release on the beach, as these releases follow a set schedule.

2. Marine Ornamental Fish Farming

The next educational tour in the conservation area of Tidung Kecil Island is a visit to a marine ornamental fish farm. On this island, there are facilities for cultivating various types of ornamental fish, such as clownfish or nemo and seahorses. We can see how the hatchery is run, how water quality is maintained, and how sustainable cultivation techniques are applied to avoid damaging the coral reef ecosystem. This activity is suitable for students, aquarium enthusiasts, and fisheries researchers.

3. Visiting the Whale Skeleton Museum

I also visited the Whale Skeleton Museum on Tidung Kecil Island. This museum is one of the most interesting educational tourist attractions in the Thousand Islands conservation area. This small museum houses a several-meter-long whale skeleton that was found stranded in the waters around the island.

The skeleton was cleaned, assembled, and displayed as a learning medium for visitors. Our guide explained that some parts were missing and had been replaced with similar materials.

At this museum, we can learn about whale anatomy, the causes of marine mammal strandings, and the critical role of this species in maintaining the balance of the aquatic ecosystem. There are many written explanations in this not-so-spacious room.

Whale Skeleton Museum

4. Visit the Mangrove Tree Nursery

The next educational tour is a visit to the mangrove tree nursery. As we know, the mangroves around the island help resist abrasion, filter pollutants, and provide habitat for various marine organisms. Tourists can learn to identify the types of mangroves in this nursery, how to plant seedlings, and their ecological role in protecting the coast.

5. Planting Mangrove Trees

What's more exciting is that I had the opportunity to participate in planting mangrove trees on the coast of Tidung Kecil Island. It's a small contribution, but the benefits will be seen after many years. My friends and I were instructed to choose the tree seedlings to be planted. Some of the mangrove seedlings were still short, while others were already quite tall.

The conservation manager explained that the seedlings planted in the water are usually 3-4 months old, with 3-5 leaves. The mangrove we planted was Rhizophora, a species commonly grown in muddy areas. Planting mangroves was a small but tangible way for me to contribute to protecting and preserving the environment.

6. Coral Reef Conservation

Small Tidung Island is surrounded by coral reefs that host a variety of marine life. This coral reef conservation program involves coral transplantation and education on the importance of protecting coral reefs from damage caused by human activities.

As tourists, we can join educational snorkeling tours to see the rehabilitated coral reefs firsthand. And yesterday, I was fortunate enough to participate in coral reef planting on Tidung Kecil Island.

Coral Reef Conservation

7. Marine Debris Education and Recycling

As a conservation area, Tidung Kecil Island is a place to learn about the impact of marine debris and the importance of sustainable waste management. Visitors are invited to identify the types of marine debris commonly found in the sea, the beach-cleaning process, and how to recycle plastic waste so it does not pollute the ecosystem again. This debris is carried to Tidung Kecil Island from various sources by ocean currents and wind.

8. Seagrass Ecosystem Exploration

Seagrass is an essential habitat for dugongs, reef fish, and various small creatures that live on the seabed. On a seagrass ecosystem tour, tourists learn why seagrass is different from seaweed, how seagrass improves water quality, and how damage to seagrass can affect the marine food chain.

9. Scientific Tourism and Marine Life Observation

Small Tidung Island is suitable for scientific research. Visitors, especially students, can observe marine life such as starfish, sea cucumbers, crabs, and mollusks. With the guidance of a tour guide, this activity teaches how to collect field data, identify species, and understand the structure of coastal ecosystems.

My thoughts

That was my exciting experience visiting an educational tourist attraction in the conservation area of Tidung Kecil Island. Tidung Kecil Island proves that tourism does not have to destroy nature; rather, it can be a means of education and conservation. This educational tourist attraction is perfect for families, students, children, and other tourists.

The educational tourism in the conservation area of Tidung Kecil Island combines environmental preservation and education. This island serves as an example of sustainable and responsible tourism. Visiting Tidung Kecil Island means not only enjoying nature's beauty but also learning to preserve Indonesia's marine ecosystems for the future.

Has anyone ever participated in educational tourism activities in the conservation area of Tidung Kecil Island? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments section.

Who here is eagerly awaiting the year end holidays? I am one of them. Why? Because we live in a tropical country, I really look forward to vacationing in countries that have snowy seasons, which I usually do at the end of the year or the beginning of the year. Moreover, as the end of the year approaches, Christmas and New Year's holidays become the most anticipated moments for many people. This time is usually used to gather with family, take a vacation to a dream destination, or take a break from daily routines.

However, from personal experience, the increase in people's mobility during the holiday period also brings various risks, ranging from traffic jams and travel fatigue to potential security and health issues. Therefore, it is essential to make thorough preparations to ensure a safe and comfortable vacation.

Year End Vacation Tips

10 Year End Vacation Tips for Safety and Comfort

To ensure your year end vacation remains safe and comfortable, here are several tips you should know and can implement before you depart or during your trip. Here are 10 year end vacation tips for safety and comfort.

1. Plan Your Trip Well in Advance

Planning is the key to enjoying your vacation. Decide on your destination, departure date, and mode of transportation well in advance. With good planning, you can avoid running out of transportation tickets and price hikes that usually occur around Christmas and New Year's.

Choose a departure time outside of the peak holiday season to reduce the risk of traffic jams and fatigue. This planning includes your travel itinerary, considering that year end holidays are usually busy, and includes alternative tourist destinations in case the place you want to visit is a popular destination.

Learning from past experiences, when buying last minute tickets for the year end holidays, prices are really high, and many schedules are already full, so we can only buy tickets that are available at exorbitant prices.

In addition, accommodations were fully booked, and even if they had been available, the prices would have been exorbitant. Vehicle rentals were also fully booked. So, plan your trip well in advance, especially if your destination is a popular tourist spot.

2. Manage Your Vacation Budget Wisely

Vacations often cause expenses to balloon. Make realistic spending plans and stick to your predetermined spending limits. With sound financial management, you can enjoy your vacation without worry and avoid financial problems after the vacation is over. Don't forget to allocate or set aside an additional budget just in case. But don't be too strict about some things for the sake of your comfort and happiness during the vacation.

3. Maintain Your Health and Fitness

Vacations will be more enjoyable if your body is in good condition. Make sure you get enough rest before traveling, eat nutritious food, and stay hydrated. Avoid pushing yourself when driving long distances, stop to rest every few hours.

4. Ensure Your Vehicle is in Top Condition

For those of you traveling by private vehicle, make sure your vehicle is in optimal condition. Service your vehicle before departure, check the brakes, tires, oil, radiator water, and vehicle lights. Don't forget to bring emergency equipment, such as a spare tire, jack, first aid kit, and safety triangle. A vehicle in top condition will reduce the risk of accidents and technical problems during the trip. This will ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

5. Be Aware of the Security of Your Personal Belongings

Tourist attractions and shopping centers are usually crowded with visitors during the holiday season. Irresponsible parties can exploit this situation. Always keep an eye on your valuables such as wallets, cell phones, and important documents. Use a secure bag, avoid wearing excessive jewelry or flashy luxury items, and keep your money in several places to reduce the risk of loss.

This applies not only domestically but also abroad, where crime lurks everywhere. Keep in mind that in some countries, many people openly mug or rob tourists. For those traveling to certain countries and renting a vehicle, never leave important items in your suitcase when you go shopping or eating.

6. Obey the Rules and Etiquette at Tourist Attractions

Every tourist destination has rules that must be obeyed for everyone's safety and comfort. Follow management instructions, obey safety signs, and avoid risky actions. In addition, maintain good manners and mutual respect toward fellow tourists and the local community to keep the vacation atmosphere conducive.

For example, if you visit Thailand and the Grand Palace, all tourists are required to wear a sarong because revealing clothing is not allowed. So obey the rules. Alternatively, for those who like to climb mountains, for example, Mount Semeru, if the mountain management has informed you that you can only go as far as the Ranu Kumbolo or Kalimati posts, then obey for your own safety and security.

7. Use Technology for Convenience

Technology can be your best friend during your vacation. There are many vacation apps that you can use. Use digital map apps to monitor traffic conditions, ticket and accommodation booking apps, and weather apps to anticipate changes in natural conditions. Save emergency numbers and important contacts on your cell phone so they are easily accessible in case of an emergency.

8. Bring Your Personal Medications

For those of you who have a history of certain illnesses, don't forget to bring your personal medications and necessary health supplies. This is just in case you have a relapse, especially if the medication you take is not sold over the counter or can only be purchased with a doctor's prescription.

9. Pay Attention to the Security of Your Home While You Are Away

If you are leaving your home for a long time, make sure it is secure. Lock all doors and windows, turn off unnecessary electrical appliances, and entrust your home to neighbors or local security personnel. These simple steps can help prevent theft and security disturbances while you are on vacation. These tips will give you peace of mind and ensure a safe, comfortable trip.

10. Always prioritize safety

Whatever type of vacation you choose, safety must be your top priority. Avoid high risk activities without adequate safety measures. If you are vacationing with parents or children, keep a close eye on them and do not neglect safety factors for the sake of momentary pleasure. Prepare items for their comfort if you are vacationing with parents and children.

My thought

The Christmas and New Year holidays should be a time full of happiness and beautiful memories. With thorough preparation, vigilance, and discipline, you can enjoy a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable vacation with your loved ones. This is especially true for those of you who are vacationing with parents and children. Hopefully, the tips above will help you enjoy your year end vacation with joy and without any significant obstacles.

If you have other tips besides the ones above, feel free to share them in the comments section.

Previously, I discussed what hotel items you can take home with you. Now, I want to discuss items that you cannot take home with you when you stay at a hotel. This is very important because if you take home hotel items that are not allowed, you will be charged an additional fee. Usually, hotel items that cannot be taken home are not disposable. Therefore, it is essential to know which hotel items cannot be taken home.

hotel items that cannot be taken home

12 Hotel Items That Cannot Be Taken Home

Here are some hotel items that cannot be taken home, which you should be aware of.

1. Towels and bath mats

The towels provided by the hotel are not intended for use as take-home items. Hotel towels are typically quite expensive and are intended to be replaced and reused for the next guest. This also includes the bath mats provided in the bathroom, which are not to be taken home because they are not disposable items. If a guest is caught taking them, either intentionally or unintentionally, the room occupant will be charged at checkout.

2. Bathrobes

Bathrobes or kimono towels are among the items that cannot be taken home from a hotel. Star-rated hotels usually provide bathrobes. These bathrobes are very tempting to take home, especially if they have a nice design and are made of high-quality material, which means they are quite expensive. If you take one home, the hotel will charge a fee or fine the guest who did so. However, if you are truly interested in owning one, you can contact the receptionist to make a purchase.

3. Bed sheets and bedding

Bed sheets and bedding, such as pillows, bolsters, and blankets, are also items that cannot be taken home from hotels. If the hotel becomes aware of this, you will be charged an additional fee in accordance with the hotel's regulations.

4. Room decorations or decorative items

Typically, hotel rooms feature wall decorations, such as paintings, to enhance the room's aesthetic appeal. Additionally, there are other decorative items, such as vases. These items are often beautifully designed, and the wall decorations, such as paintings, are even created by renowned painters, making them highly attractive to own. After 13 years of not setting foot on Pulau Tidung, located in the Thousand Islands, I was finally able to visit it again a few days ago. Many things have changed over the years, but some things remain the same, namely the comfort and hospitality of the local residents.

As for significant changes, tourist attractions in the Thousand Islands are now much better organized than before. There are even many comfortable accommodations for visiting tourists. One of the most comfortable accommodations in the Thousand Islands is Nirva Ocean House Pulau Tidung, often referred to as Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung.

Nirva House Resort

About Nirva Ocean House, Pulau Tidung

Pulau Tidung in the Kepulauan Seribu now has a new and very attractive resort called Nirva Ocean House, also known as Nirva Resort. This resort offers a very peaceful tropical atmosphere, views of the open sea, and the comfort of a modern hotel. It is perfect for those who want to escape the city's hustle and bustle while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Officially opened on April 27, 2025, Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung is located in the Sunset Area, West Tidung, Pulau Tidung, Thousand Islands, Jakarta 14520. The location is quite far from the Pulau Tidung harbor. Upon arrival at Pulau Tidung harbor, guests are typically met and escorted to the resort, making the trip relatively easy.

A bentor usually picks up guests. Bentor is a motorized rickshaw, a form of public transportation used by the local community to move from one place to another, in addition to bicycles and motorcycles. This modified vehicle can carry 3-4 people, including the driver.

Room rates at this luxury resort vary depending on availability, holiday season, and resort policies at the time of booking. Regular room rates (room only) on weekdays are around IDR 1.9 million per night per room. For weekends, rates are around IDR 2.5 million per night per room. For those who require an extra bed, an additional charge of approximately IDR 500,000 applies, which includes breakfast.

This luxury resort also offers full board packages, which include meals, activities, and transportation, starting from IDR 1.9 million per package. Reservations can be made by contacting the resort directly or through an OTA.

The facilities at Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung are quite complete for a 3 star resort or accommodation. Starting from rooms with air conditioning, TV, WiFi, and facilities such as coffee and tea, mineral water, spacious bathrooms, they even provide pool towels for those who want to swim.

What's more exciting is that Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung features modern beachfront cabins with a beautiful, direct view of the sea from each room. This is the main selling point of this resort. In addition, the property features a swimming pool with an ocean atmosphere, a spacious restaurant offering local and international menus, and a view that directly overlooks the open sea.

For those who bring children or enjoy trampolines, this resort also offers trampoline facilities and bicycle rentals, including both regular bicycles and electric bicycles, which can be used to explore the island.

For those who enjoy marine activities, this resort offers a range of options, including snorkeling, diving, kayaking, watersports (such as banana boat rides), island bike tours, and eco tours. For pricing information, please contact the resort directly.

Experience Staying at Nirva Resort, Pulau Tidung

So, what was my experience like staying at Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung? I arrived at Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung around 2 PM, right on time for check in. The lobby area isn't very spacious, but there are restrooms and seating areas for waiting or queuing during check in.

When we checked in, the staff offered us a welcome drink of fresh guava and orange juice. It felt incredibly refreshing, like finding an oasis in the desert, especially since the heat on Pulau Tidung was intense during the day.

This beautiful resort also provides cold towels for wiping your face and hands. When a cold towel touches your face, it feels so refreshing. This service is a plus for me, as not all resorts I have visited provide this service. Alternatively, the resorts I visited previously were not all located directly on the beach.

After checking in and being warmly welcomed by all the friendly staff, I put all my belongings in my room and began exploring the resort. From the resort lobby, which isn't very spacious, you can immediately see the swimming pool and trampoline that connects to the restaurant with a direct view of the sea. The swimming pool is the central attraction, as it is situated in the heart of the resort.

Meanwhile, the left and right sides consist of a row of separate rooms, designed as low rise bungalows, all facing the open sea, with a total of 14 rooms. There are seven rooms on the left side and seven rooms on the right side.

I got room number 3, which has a coconut tree and several large shady trees in front of it, as well as a swing that juts out over the sea. It's a truly beautiful view.

In the late afternoon, this swing is submerged in seawater due to the high tide. However, in the morning, the seawater recedes, making it very safe and comfortable to play on the swing amidst the beauty of the sea. It is perfect for taking photos.

A hammock is also available for relaxation, whether you are reading a book, enjoying the beautiful view of the open sea from the room, or simply sleeping to the soothing sound of the sea in the background.

So what about the room? This spacious 32 square meter room features two rooms, a bedroom and a very spacious bathroom. The room area features facilities and is generally designed like a hotel room, but what makes it unique is the bathroom, which is constructed using bamboo and wood flooring. It is very aesthetic. It also makes the atmosphere even warmer and more homey.

From inside the room, we have a direct view of the beautiful ocean. At night, the air is slightly cool thanks to the AC, but during the day, it becomes extremely hot, even with the AC on.

After taking photos, freshening up, and resting for a while, my friends and I headed to the restaurant to enjoy afternoon tea and dinner. It was very beautiful, the restaurant was surrounded by the open sea as far as the eye could see, making anyone want to stay longer at this luxurious resort.

Sitting comfortably at the edge of the restaurant, accompanied by warm, sweet tea with a view of the blue open sea and the fresh sea breeze, it felt like being in another world. It is so peaceful and comfortable that all your fatigue and tiredness melt away. Some people enjoy taking photos and chatting, while others enjoy their food or enjoy the atmosphere by sitting quietly.

As dusk approaches, it's time to enjoy the sunset on the western horizon, and the view becomes even more beautiful. The light of the setting sun blends seamlessly with the beautiful blue sea, enhancing the beauty of this luxurious resort.

After finishing afternoon tea and dinner together, and enjoying the view of the open sea at the restaurant, my friends and I decided to enjoy the night atmosphere at the Love Bridge, one of the iconic landmarks of Pulau Tidung, by riding a bentor.

During the 10 minute ride, I had a pleasant conversation with the bentor driver. It was exciting to chat with the locals while traveling in this manner. In the residential area near the Love Bridge, an event was held by the Jakarta Tourism Office, making the atmosphere even more lively and exciting.

We also enjoyed local snacks, such as seafood. It was really exciting. After returning from our outing, we immediately rested because we were very tired after traveling and exploring the island since early morning.

At 5 a.m., I woke up to enjoy the sunrise from my room, which was breathtaking. After enjoying the sunrise, I went swimming in the pool with my friends, and we then moved to the beach in front of the room, enjoying the beautiful sea view. Of course, documentation was not overlooked.

After enjoying the pool, playing on the trampoline, and playing in the water at the beach in front of the room, we continued with breakfast. After finishing breakfast, I cleaned up and then packed for checkout. Wow, time flew by so fast. One night is not enough to fully enjoy the atmosphere here.

My Thoughts

Overall, I love this resort, it's clean, quiet, and still natural, making it perfect for anyone who wants to relax, connect with nature, unwind from work, and escape the crowds. Its location, right on the beach with ocean views, and the ability to enjoy the sunset or sunrise from the front of the room, make it a great choice for a vacation that's not too far away.

The room design is a perfect blend of modern hotel comfort and tropical natural beauty, ideal for romantic getaways, families, or solo travelers like myself. Add to that complete facilities, friendly service, numerous fun water activities, and a location far from the crowds, and it is perfect for an enjoyable vacation with minimal hassle.

Additionally, it's extremely easy to access and conveniently located near Jakarta. You can go from Marina Ancol by speedboat or from Muara Angke, which has cheaper boat tickets but takes longer. Select the option that suits your budget and needs.

I stayed at this resort on a weekday, and the rooms were still full. The next day, when I checked out, there were already lots of guests arriving. For those who intend to enjoy this beautiful and comfortable place, we recommend making reservations well in advance, as the number of rooms is limited. Currently, there are only 14 rooms available, so it is always full.

Additionally, the price is significantly more affordable when booked well in advance. Especially if you are vacationing here on the weekend, the price is much higher. Alternatively, during long holidays such as Christmas, New Year's, school holidays, or other major holidays like Eid, the prices are significantly different. So make your reservation early.

Additional information, on the OTA website and the Nirva Resort Pulau Tidung website, this resort offers check in at 2:00 PM and checkout at 12:00 PM. However, the reception desk is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This means that guests can only check in by 6:00 PM at the latest, meaning that late night check ins are not accommodated.

Therefore, I recommend arriving during the day rather than in the late afternoon. Additionally, it would be a shame to check in late, especially if you are only staying for one night, as you would miss out on many beautiful moments and places at this lovely resort.
